What the heck is going on here?
"I see it all perfectly; there are two possible situations - one can either do this or that. My honest opinion and my friendly advice is this: do it or do not do it - you will regret both."
- Soren Kierkegaard
This is the electric window into my passion - rockclimbing. I'm deeply committed to pushing my own climbing forward and through that process push others climbing forward. I have received more climbing than I could ever hope to repay. It has literally saved my life. The goal of this website is "pay forward" as much as I can by adding value to the climbing community. There two parallel (but interconnected) paths on that journey.
The first path is through training. I'm obsessed with training (i.e., systematically improving human performance). In the past, I have seriously trained in Track & Field, Soccer, Body Building, CrossFit, and Olympic Weightlifting. Right now, my primary focus is training for climbing. It is not for everyone, but it is perfect for me.
The second path is sharing climbing that has not been shared before. I have deep basis toward the scientific tradition. That tradition values creating novel work that builds upon previous work and then widely publishing it. This website allows me to share previously unshared climbs.
I don't have an editor, for better or worse. There are (plenty of) mistakes and inaccurate statements. If I waited until I had all information and it was perfect, I would do nothing ever.
This website helps me fulfill my purpose on earth - To Grow & Give.
Why can't I comment?
"How absurd men are! They never use the liberties they have, they demand those they do not have. They have freedom of thought, they demand freedom of speech."
- Soren Kierkegaard
This is more a website than a blog. The information is only hosted on blogspot.com for its speed and convenience. I rather spend my time training and brushing lichen than maintaining a website and gardening comments. I'm available if you would like to train or brush lichen with me.
How do I understand & use the archives?
"Life must be understood backwards; but... it must be lived forward."
- Soren Kierkegaard
There is a lot of information here. The best use of your time is searching for specific information. I'm lazy and search using goggle (e.g., "stupid site:theclimbinglab.blogspot.com"). Since I'm constantly changing and evolving, the more recent the information the more accurately it reflects my current thoughts. Always keep these concepts in mind - This "map" is not my "territory" & My goal is better, not perfect.
